Off-road trip to San Bernardino Mountains

We rented a brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser (only 150 miles on it) and drove to San Bernardino Mountains. Here we started our off-road adventure.

We stayed in the Fireside Lodge at Big Bear Lake.

We saw this old truck in the village of Big Bear Lake.

And this giant truck in Big Bear Lake.

We took a hike down to Deep Creek hot springs from Bowen Ranch. This is the parking lot of Bowen Ranch. The hike starts here. On the right is our brand new yellow rental FJ Cruiser.

The hike down to Deep Creek. This area of San Bernardino Mountains is desert-like.

In the middle of the desert mountain, there is a square of greens and rapids and laughters. Here is the Deep Creek hot springs near Bowen Ranch. I didn't take more pictures because it was a nude hot springs. There were about two dozen people, many were nude and enjoying the cold river and the hot springs. It was like a paradise.

The house of Bowen Ranch. The owner Mike lives here alone "in a simple existence". He showed us his 4x4 Willy's jeep and photos of a Ford truck he restored.
